1 Chronicles 29:14 – “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”
Greed is an after effect of the fall of man; the corrupt nature of hoarding material wealth to try to fill the empty void within us that was meant for God. It will therefore make sense for an unbeliever to be greedy, but the same should not be said of the believer.
The Lord is the Believer’s inheritance and has filled him up with eternity and into the same. With all the wealth in the world we are still worthless without Christ, so we must put off the mentality of measuring ourselves with how much we have hoarded, and rather see it as an honor to give to the Lord.
And also unlike the unbeliever who thinks all he has is by his own might and hardwork, the believer knows that everything they have came from God, and that they are only giving Him back a token of what He gave to them. Let’s appreciate His kindness toward us by giving back to His work in the earth.
It’s a brand new day! Keep enjoying Kharis!
