Acts 4:12 – “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be savedâ
The word âsalvationâ in the Old Testament has the idea of God delivering His people from circumstances in which they are powerless to rescue themselves and in which they are doomed to destruction without Godâs help. In the New Testament God is also called Savior as seen in Luke 1:47. – âMy spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.â and in 1 Timothy 2:3 – âHe desires that all men be savedâ
The Bible makes it abundantly clear that there is only one Savior. The essential truth is Jesus Christ delivers us from that which we cannot rescue ourselves â sin and its eternal consequences. To be a Christian and âbe savedâ is the same thing. Every individual the world over is in need of salvation from sin. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lordâ
(Romans 6:23).
That is why the Father sent the Son to step in between the effects of sin and all who trust in the atoning death of Jesus Christ for their sins. Jesus Christ took the blow of sinâs wrath upon Himself and died for the sinner. His death paid the full penalty for our sin. Moreover, God has credited to the account of the believer the full righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ and also delivers us from the power of sin.
Itâs a brand new day! Keep enjoying Kharis!
