1 Timothy 6:7 – “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
We live in a world where the building is valued above its owner, where material wealth is seen as more valuable than the life of another. The world measures the worth of a person by their wealth. This is the spirit of the world, but he believer in Christ is of a different and opposing spirit.
Where do we find our value? what do we use to measure our worth? The worth of a believer is the Word.It abides forever. Everything that we possess materially has an expiry date and if it doesn’t expire during our lifetime, we will definitely expire one day and leave it behind.
We carry nothing material out of this world when our souls leave our bodies, but we have an immeasurable treasure in our saved souls. This is why we Christians measure our worth by what Christ has done in us and not things we own. The riches of the whole world put together cannot ransom one soul out of hell. This is our wealth and in this we find our worth and contentment.
